2009 Gruber Justice Prize Through recourse to litigation, consultation, and other approaches available within the justice and political systems, Bryan Stevenson and the European Roma Rights Centre have courageously helped members of oppressed groups gain access to equal justice.       European Roma Rights Centre (ERRC)   An international public interest law organization, European Roma Rights Centre has battled anti-Roma violence and discrimination in more than 27 countries, bringing about changes in law, government compliance with new policies, and compensation for victims.                 Bryan Stevenson   The executive director of Equal Rights Initiative, Bryan Stevenson has brought to public attention systemic biases against racial minorities and, through skilled, creative advocacy, been an effective voice for those routinely denied equal treatment by the justice system.
