Education

While the Gruber Foundation presents enhancement opportunities to public schools in the territory, it also bolsters private education, primarily by providing scholarship money both to religious and to non-sectarian, college-preparatory institutions. As part of its scholarship program, it has established an endowment to help fund tuition for five high school students each year at the Antilles High School on St. Thomas. It also funds a 50-percent high school scholarship at the Good Hope School on St. Croix and five 50-percent scholarships at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic High School on St. Thomas. Recipients are chosen by the respective school based on merit and need.

Additionally, the Foundation contributes annually to the Miss Virgin Islands Scholarship Organization and to the college scholarship program of the Community Foundation of the Virgin Islands.

It is a long-time contributor to the Pistarckle Theater’s summer youth theater program, to the Upward Bound early admissions program of the University of the Virgin Islands, and to many other educational initiatives.
